a little somethin'-somethin'

so, i was feeling kinda lousy today after a lame encounter with a loved one. feeling like i was just banging my head into the same brick wall for, like, the 14millionth time.  somethin' must have kinda come loose in my noggin because the skies opened and a lovely angel choir sang somethin' lovely!  "i know", i thought, "i'll just kill 'em with kindness.  i'll just gift a little somethin'-somethin'." nothing says "let's just get over ourselves!" like a gift from the heart.  nothing big, just a token.  just a little somethin'...

lucky for me, i heard about the something store on npr on the way into work. turns out, you give these mad geniuses $10 and they send you (or your loved one) a little somethin'.  you don't know what it is until you open it.  some of the somethings are super fancy pants, like iPod shuffles and whatnot.  and some are not. but all are promised to be interesting.  

so, anyhow, i ordered two somethings - one to be delivered to the brick wall and one to be delivered to my head.  i'll keep you posted...

8 shoes

i'm relatively certain when i started this blog i told myself i would never post a shot of any part of my own body modeling any new purchase. nothing against regular self-shooters, i just feel like such a boob taking pictures of myself. i never look as adorable as my favorite wardrobe remixers. never.

that having been said, can you guess what i did today?

it was a bit of a controlled explosion. controlled in that i spent less than $200 but explosion in that it seemed entirely reasonable to leave dsw with four new pairs of shoes. but, whatever, i like them all so much!

incidentally, i did, in fact, feel exactly like a boob taking these pictures.

a must-have

on my estate sale-ing journey this morning i found a pink cowhide for $4. needless to say, i snatched that baby right up with a paranoid backwards glance. you know how crazy estate salers can be.

it was on a cardboard roll when i bought it and it turns out... it's only half a pink cowhide. dang. still, half a pink cowhide is better than no pink cowhide in my book.
